Kier Utilities keep our telecoms clients’ customers connected to superfast broadband, digital TV and the latest full-fibre gigabit internet services through the design and construction of new fibre networks as well as the maintenance of existing HFC networks.

Working in partnership with Virgin Media since 2001, we provide the network engineering support to connect hundreds of thousands of new customers and lay more than 100,000,000m of new networks annually, every year to customers throughout the UK. With our new growth and ambition to be industry leaders, we are looking for talented, professional and customer centric people to join our team.

With our dedicated promise, we are now looking to expand in the local area by increasing our client base. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to evaluate all levels of commercial risk and maximise the benefit to Kier, covering procurement, risk mitigation, pricing and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you will report commercial performance to the Senior Management team and manage sub-contractor accounts from start to final account, consisting of enquiries, tendering, negotiation, placement of orders and order of final account. You’ll ensure payments are received on time, in order to maximise cash flow and generate high revenue streams.

What are we looking for?

A commercially focused, degree qualified (ideally chartered) individual with surveying experience within a civil engineering or utility background. You’ll also have NEC3 or NEC4 framework experience and a solid understanding of Alliance Contract procurement.

If you have strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of budgeting and cost control, then this is the role for you!
